My name is Jo Barker, the proud owner of Uppingham Foot Clinic in Rutland. I qualified as a Podiatrist in 2002, with a First Class Honours Degree in Podiatry, from Durham School of Podiatry (University of Sunderland).

 

I started my career as an NHS Podiatrist at Rutland Memorial Hospital, working as a Specialist Podiatrist in Biomechanics. My interest in lower limb biomechanics,and musculo-skeletal disorders, has continued throughout my career, and I have continued to develop this as a specialism.

 

In January 2014, I started my own private practice based in Uppingham. This allowed me to continue working as a Podiatrist, a job which I am devoted to, whilst also being able to be a flexible working mum to three children! In 2018 I had three clinics in Uppingham, at the  Surgery, Uppingham School Sports Centre and Victoria Pharmacy.

 

In January 2019 we launched Uppingham Foot Clinic in our own premises in Bear Yard, with ongoing renovation we are transforming the building to create our brand new 'home'!

 

I am passionate about all aspects of foot health and foot care, and the important role it has to play in our general health and well being. I offer a comprehensive range of treatments, including routine foot care, nail care, corns and callouses, verrucas, nail surgery, diabetic foot care, biomechanics and orthotic prescriptions. I am always happy to help and advise on any aspect of foot health, or lower limb joint or muscular pain.
